Lucknow: Ramesh Chandra Yadav, the district malaria officer in Unnao, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 by the vigilance establishment on Monday. The incident stemmed from a complaint filed by KK Gupta, a biologist in the filariasis control unit in Unnao, who alleged that Yadav demanded the bribe in exchange for approving his medical leave. Following Gupta's complaint to the senior superintendent of police and the UP vigilance establishment, it was confirmed that Yadav was soliciting a bribe. Yadav was caught accepting the money at the district malaria office in Unnao and was apprehended by the vigilance team.
